Originally on April 19th I was going to be photographing the Pioneer Square Spring Clean Event down in Seattle and so I scheduled this particularly family portrait session for the afternoon. Luckily or because of weather concerns, the Spring Clean event was moved to May 17 (tomorrow) and I was able to move this portrait session to the morning of April 19. That’s rambling I know, but it was divine grace that we were able to catch some lovely moments together at the park right before the downpour began.
Now I fear we’ll have rain tomorrow for the Spring Clean, but alas, we’ll weather the weather, whatever the weather, whether we like it or not.
This family, The Dennis Family, is really special to me. I’ve known Julie for over a decade. We’ve kick boxed together. We’ve had red-faces trying to cool off in the server room at our office together. I saw her get married to Josh. I saw the joy of her being pregnant for the first time. And sadly, I was devastated for her and Josh when they lost their daughter Emily just before her due date. I’ve walked with her at The TEARS Foundation Rock & Walk events twice to honor their daughter. And since, I’ve seen her glow with love for her son, Rowan. And, now, she and Josh are awaiting another child and I got to photograph their growing family.
What an honor!
Here are some of my favorites from our morning together in mid-April.

I’m wishing this baby a continued safe place in his or her momma’s womb and I cannot wait to meet him or her in June. Love you, Dennis Family!
Update: Calvin Russell was born on May 27, 2014. Momma and baby are doing wonderful. 🙂
