Speck – The Book

I lost my 13 year old cat, Speck, in November 2013 and I decided to make a Blurb book about her.  I’ve made Blurb books before, but this one took on a special significance for me.  As I went through my drives and computer and photo books for film prints, I found myself remembering old memories and retracing my history.  The book really is more about me than her.  When a pet / good friend is there for nearly a third of one’s life, a lot can happen.  And, with cats, they are so very gracious.  They never talk back.  They just provide unconditional love.

Here are some of my favorite photographs that I found and some quotes that summed up my love for cats and their love for us.

Man, I miss this kitty.  She was such a lover and so loyal.  Over my life I have loved many cats, but Speck will always be my girl, and the one that fully stole my heart.  May we all find such loyal and loving furry friends.  Rest in peace, sweet girl.
