Grecian Cats
On Tuesday, I returned from a fabulous vacation to the Dodecanese Islands of Greece where we sailed on a well-appointed 55 ft. sailboat named AnnaMaria with our fabulous skipper, Ben, and a crew of 8 including my cousin and her husband, my husband and his cousin, a friend from college and two relatively new friends from the Seattle area, and me. A fun time was had by all and the oonz / uns shall live on forever. ; ) The company we sailed with was SeaScape Sailing based on the island of Leros. This trip has been in the making for nearly 10 years. In fact, we were about to book it in 2001 on the day the World Trade Towers fell. However, back then, no one knew how safe or unsafe it would be to travel near Turkey so we stayed home. I will say though, that this trip was so wonderful, it was well worth the wait.
One of my travel companions, and fellow artist, Sarah, asked what my favorite photographs were from the trip. Without hesitation, I said, “The ones of the cats.” And specifically, the image I really like is included below.

I am nowhere near done editing the photos, but I look forward to the process so I can re-live some of the wonderful memories created. If you want to go to Greece and want to see it in a non-traditional way, hit the islands, and we all highly recommend SeaScape. Perhaps their Thailand trip is next on our horizon….
Lastly, you can check my Flickr page for more images of cats and other fun stuff from the trip. =^.^=

Puuuurrrrrr! This photo makes me so happy. I hope a publisher sees this and licenses it for a book cover. Can’t you just see a title on the white wall? I look forward to the next set of cat photos! -Sarah
